Brian McCarty
October 2 - November 12, 2022
Brian McCarty presents 21 new paintings in our window gallery this month. His work features landscapes and architecture inspired by growing up rural in New Jersey. "I've always found old houses, barns, and the countryside interesting subjects," the artist says.
Brian McCarty was raised in Sussex County and many of his paintings reflect his early view of the woods, fields and old barns of northwestern New Jersey. While he loves the country, he also spent summers at the Jersey Shore and enjoyed the busy professional world of New York City. This collection reflects just some of the different sides of his art.
A graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Thomas Edison State College. Brian worked as a graphic designer in New York publishing houses for over 35 years.
On view October 2 - November 12, 2022.

"Just Life Flowers, We'll Bloom Again" is the mantra of her collection, based on a poem she wrote during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Theresa Darke Stone is an Atlantic Highlands native who has always been influenced by ocean wildlife and local beaches. Her work in stained glass is based on traditional methods, but her original patterns features unexpected elements like shells and faceted jewels.
