Write Away!
Instructor: Mary Blehl Walsh
What do you want to write, and why? Write Away! is a light-hearted approach to this solitary endeavor and cultivates the strengths of each person as he/she explores the answer to this question. The class provides writerly tools, whether you have been writing for a while or just starting out. Either way, the only requirement is a willingness to listen to your fellow writers should they choose to share.
Session 1: This session will focus on humor among other topics, including techniques gleaned from some of the participants in the Iowa Writers' Workshop like Marilynne Robinson, Flannery O'Connor and John Irving. Prompts, in-class exercises and homework assignments will help stimulate creativity in a supportive and positive environment.
